In
Spring
2005 the young Swiss violinist was the youngest prize-winner at the
third Graubünden Young Musician’s Competition in Chur. The
competition was followed by a grand prize-winner’s concert at which
she played her solo recital debut with the Graubünden Chamber
Philharmonic orchestra. In December 2005 the Arosa Culture Circle
invited her for the first time to give solo recitals at Arosa’s
mountain church. In spring 2010 she performed in the United States
of America for the first time and following that she played as a
solo-violin in a world premiere in the great hall of the Tonhalle in
Zurich.
In March
2006 she qualified with the first place in the regional elimination
contest in Eschen (FL) for the national final in Winterthur in May
2006. There she achieved an excellent second place.
In spring 2008 and 2011 she won the first prize with honours at the
Young Musician’s Competition in Central Switzerland and was chosen
for the prize-winner’s concert. At the same competition in 2008 she
achieved an outstanding second prize in the piano competition.
Sunita
has performed various concerts at home and abroad with appearances
in Arosa, Ascona, Basel, Lucerne, Zurich, Germany, Italy, Hungary
and USA.
The young talent made her first acquaintance with the violin when
she was only five, studying with Peter Rüttimann at the Suzuki
school in Meggen.
Following the advice of Jens Lohmann (Zürich), a well-known
specialist in the field, she began lessons in summer 2004 with
Vedran Brkanovic who has helped her to enter the world of music.
Since
September 2007 Sunita has been under the care of Ina Dimitrova, a
famous violinist and educator, at the academy of music in Lucerne.
She has attended the gifted and talented program in Schwyz for two
years. Since summer 2009 she has been attending the sport and music
high school in Luzern.
In
addition to her high school studies, since September 2010 Sunita has
been studying music at the Academy of Music in Lucern.
Additionally, Suni Abplanalp attends various master classes for
violin. In summer 2009 she was accepted for the international
masters course for special talents Astona. |
